Bronny James' Eye-Opening Response To Potential G League Assignment
By Matt Wadleigh,
2024-07-13The Los Angeles Lakers picked Bronny James 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. Then, they gave him a fully guaranteed four-year deal , which is unheard of for a player taken toward the end of the second round.
Furthermore, the son of LeBron James has a lot of eyeballs around him, and even more with him wearing a Lakers uniform.
He has gotten off to a rough start in the Summer League with the Lakers, prompting fans to wonder whether or not he will be in the G League.
After the Lakers' Friday night Summer League loss to the Houston Rockets, Bronny opened up about his potential role and whether or not he would spend time in the G League (h/t Dave McMenamin of ESPN).
"I'm just looking forward to any basketball I play -- no matter what level I'm playing at."
So, it seems he would even warrant a role in the G League, which is certainly a smart way for him to increase his playing time and be able to develop with far less pressure.

It has been a tough start to his young career for Bronny. On Friday, he scored eight points with five rebounds on 3-for-14 from the field, including 0-for-8 from the three-point area, after 27 minutes of playing time.
"I just feel like I'm in a little slump right now," said Bonny after the game.
James played two games in the California Classic but also struggled. So far through three games, he is shooting 6-for-26 and 0-for-12 from three.
It's early in Bronny James' career, so things can definitely change for the better. The Lakers next play against the Boston Celtics on Monday night in Las Vegas.
